It’s been a while, to say the least. And what better day to come back to the throes of blogging than St. Patrick’s Day? I of course have no better answer, so let’s stick to the idea that the Irish inspired me — in the very least they inspired a preppy pink and green outfit that got me playing around on polyvore, which indirectly led me back here, so it all kind of works, no?
Quite a lot has gone on since I last blogged, but venturing into that space feels daunting at the moment, so let’s just keep this as an, “I’m officially back” post (which is true aside from St. Patrick’s Day as I recently migrated this blog to wordpress and am in the midst of a major blog makeover right now).
Catch you on the flip side.
“Influenster is a place for culture junkies to come together and share their unique opinions of products and experiences. Active members of Influenster get exclusive access to deals, promotions, and swag [that's what's in the "VoxBox"] from brands that thrive off the input (the good, the bad, and the ugly – they just want to know what’s up).”
The first item I’ve decided to check out in my spring VoxBox is the Kandy Bar Kake from Tastykake (http://www.tastykake.com
). What Influenster has to say about TastyKakes:
|S’Mores: made with real Hershey’s™ cocoa
and topped with graham cracker crumbles

Kandy Bar Kakes are the best of both worlds. Light and fluffy chocolate-enrobed cakes come in a unique kandy bar shape with a delicious créme filling made with your favorite candy flavors. Available in S’mores, Peppermint, and Peanut Butter flavor. Available at grocery and convenience stores across America.
Single Serve – $1.69, Family Pack – $4.49
I tried the S’mores kake, which uses real Hershey’s™ cocoa and it was pretty good. It was however a soft snack, which means you dont’ get the satisfying crunch that an actual graham crack has to offer. The only disappointing fact is that it’s a 260 calorie and 11 grams of fat snack. Not exactly something you’d eat everyday, or even every week for that matter. But it was tasty, so I give it a B-. It was good, but I’d definitely eat other things before choosing this.
I RECEIVED THESE PRODUCTS COMPLIMENTARY FOR TESTING PURPOSES FROM INFLUENSTER.
Six hours, one Friday. Mundane to the casual observer. A shepherd with his sheep, a housewife with her thoughts, a doctor with his patients. But to a handful of awestruck witnesses, the most maddening of miracles is occurring. God is on a cross. The creator of the universe is being executed.
It is no normal six hours. It is no normal Friday. Far worse than the breaking of his body is the shredding of his heart. And now his own father is beginning to turn his back on him, leaving him alone. What do you do with that day in history? What do you do with its claims? They were the most critical hours in history.
Nails didn’t hold God to a cross. Love did. The sinless One took on the face of a sinner so that we sinners could take on the face of a saint!
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

I’m officially a horrible blogger. How I’ve not made the time to write here more often… I have no excuses. I’ve been keeping busy over at AskMissA.com managing both the Entertainment section and Washington, D.C., as well as running PR. I guess that keeps a girl pretty tied down. But truth be told, I’ve given so much of myself there and at church as of late, I’ve just not had a whole lot of me left to put anywhere else.
Does that make sense?
That said, today marks the beginning of sequestration going into effect. Don’t worry, I’m not about to talk politics, but I wanted to bring a message over here from my facebook page:
Prayers for everyone being effected/about to be effected by the implementation of sequestration today. I know it’s such a scary time, feeling as though your future is resting in the balances of our crazy government… but know that God is faithful.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
Have faith my dears. As troubling as joblessness is, He’s going to stand by your side and provide for you. ♥
